The city of Bend itself has over 51 miles of in-town trails. Among one of the more prominent trails is the Deschutes River Trail at Sawyer Park. It is accessible to all skill levels of hikers and runs along the Deschutes River, where you are bound to get a glimpse of the wildlife. If you want the best views in all of Bend, hike to the summit of Pilot Butte. From the top, enjoy stunning panoramic views of several mountains including a shield volcano—Three Fingered Jack. Visit the most historic part of Bend at the Old Mill District. Whether you are in town for the weekend or on vacation with kids, Old Mill District has something for everyone. Beautiful murals can be found just on a stroll through the area as well as a handful of art galleries where local artists display their work. With kids, rent a Surrey bike from Wheel Fun Rentals, or attend one of the many arts and crafts events put on by Bend Parks & Recreation. At night, head to the Les Schwab Amphitheater to experience a fun concert in a unique venue.
