May is near, which means the heart of the golf season is about to begin.
Yes, May is a prime month for golfers here at Black Butte Ranch. In fact, some of the best rates of the season at Black Butte Ranch will be offered in May.
Beginning Friday, May 1, golfers can play 18 holes at either Big Meadow or Glaze Meadow for $47. After 1 p.m. that rate drops to $42. Golfers with a bit less time on their hands can play nine holes after 2 p.m. for $27.
Of course, that means the chance to take advantage of Black Butte Ranch’s 45th anniversary hat deal is waning. (The last day will be Thursday, April 30.) Still, with both golf courses in peak condition so early in the season, Black Butte Ranch’s May rates should be impossible to beat.
There is more than just good rates and pristine conditions to lure a golfer to Black Butte Ranch this month.
To help a golfer sharpen his or her skills for the season, Black Butte Ranch’s staff of PGA professionals will tee up its first of many clinics this year with its Get Golf Ready! program (May 4-6, May 11-13 and May 18-20). For $105, students spend three days in small groups with our pros going over the fundamentals of the game, including chipping, putting, full swing and bunker play.
Competitive golfers might also want to take a swing at two fun events that are open to the public. The first is the 16th Annual Central Oregon, which will be played May 14-15 and will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities. On May 18, Big Meadow will host the Hospitality Cup Golf Tournament, a four-person scramble open to businesses in the hospitality industry.
Yes, the golf season is here. And with spectacular spring weather forecasted this weekend, we should be off to a great start.
