Coming in June: Summer begins at Black Butte Ranch

 Junior Putting Challenge, SNAG Golf usher in summer

Nothing quite brings out the carefree spirit of children more than summer. The long days, warm, sunny weather — and of course, no school — conspire to create memories that last a lifetime.

The peak season really kicks off in June, when Black Butte Ranch welcomes that endless Central Oregon summer. Black Butte Ranch, a true family-oriented resort, embraces the season with fun activities planned throughout the summer. That extends to the Ranch’s two junior-friendly championship golf courses, too.

Beginning June 29, and held every Thursday through August, Glaze Meadow’s practice putting green will host the Junior Putting Challenge. The fun events will begin at 3:30 p.m. every Thursday and include divisions for youngsters age 6- to 9-years-old (nine holes), 10-14 years old (18 holes) and 15-17 years old (18 holes).

Cost is just $5 and includes golf balls and an ice cream.

Immediately after, Black Butte Ranch will host SNAG Golf (Starting New At Golf). The FREE lesson introduces kids age 7 and older to golf by using fun, oversized equipment. SNAG Golf is held from 4:30-5:30 p.m. every Thursday at Glaze Meadow’s Driving Range, following the Junior Putting Challenge, 4:30-5:30 PM at Glaze Meadow Driving Range.

  • Black Butte Ranch will hold its very first Vino Thursday event of the season on Thursday, June 15, from 5-7 p.m. The event, held on the Big Meadow driving range, is a great way to meet up with friends, enjoy a great glass of wine, meet Black Butte Ranch’s golf professionals, and learn more about our golf programs and events for the season.   • Summer is the time for game improvement, and Black Butte Ranch is stepping up its game in June with schools, clinics, and camps. Ladies Only Golf School (June-27-29), 100 Yards In Golf Clinics (June 3-4, 17-18, 24-25), and Three-Day Junior Golf Camps (June 19-21, 26-28) are all designed for golfers who want to rapidly improve their games. And of course, private lessons for both adults and juniors are always available.   • The unlimited spring golf special continues into June. Through June 15 on Sundays through Thursdays, golfers can play unlimited golf at both Glaze Meadow and Big Meadow for just $69, which includes the use of a cart. Play 18 holes with cart for just $59, and walkers can play 18 for $49.
