Precautions

• Face coverings will be optional for employees, owners and guests in indoor settings
• Power Golf Carts* and pull carts are sanitized with a very powerful CDC Spray that sits on the surfaces for the recommended time; they are then power washed with a heat cycle over 135 degrees
• The Pull Carts and Golf Boards are also sanitized with spray and wiped down after each use
• *Power Golf Carts are available but you must be married or related to ride together. Otherwise, you ride as a single
• Each Cup has an insert that allows the ball to drop into the cup about 1” – 1 ½”
• You will not need to pull the flag to retrieve your ball. Please do not touch the pins
• All rakes and ball washers have been removed from the course

We appreciate that everyone is stepping up cleaning regimens. Please follow these guidelines when using disposable cleaning materials.

ALL Disposable Wipes should be discarded into the trash, including these items.  They should NEVER be flushed down the toilet (even if the label says they’re flushable.)

• Cosmetic Wipes
• Personal Wipes
• “Flush-able” Wipes
• Paper Towels
• Tissue Paper
• Dental Floss

INFRASTRUCTURE
Protecting our infrastructure saves all of us a truckload of money. Wipes, whether
branded as “flush-able” or otherwise, should never be flushed down into our
sewer system. Most wipes do not dissolve the way toilet paper disintegrates with
liquids. Some wipes even have plastic woven into their fabrics causing it to wrap
around pumps instead of flowing through the pump and into the sewer line.
When lift station pumps back up, sewer can back fill into residential and
commercial sewer lines overflowing into lower lying wastewater vestibules like
tubs, showers and toilets. Sewer can also back up into the street from clogs in
major lines seeking pressure relief through manholes and other outlets. The
bottom line is…Wipes Clog Pipes!

COLLECTION SYSTEMS MAINTENANCE
Wipes and paper towels can survive the long journey from homes though miles of
sewer pipe and never dissolve. Although we spend the entire year maintaining
our sewer systems though remote camera robotics, flushing, repairing, and
removing tree roots and other debris, these non-dissolving wipes find grease or
other debris to adhere to and create large fatbergs and “rag” balls. These wads of
debris become impenetrable in the sewer lines.

system continues to properly function for uninterrupted service for you and the
Ranch by only using toilet paper.

FROM THE CHIEF’S DESK:  COVID-19 SCAMS and SCHEMES

Scams and Schemes that have been reported around the United States.  The U.S. Attorney’s Offices have received reports of individuals and businesses engaging in a wide range of fraudulent and criminal behavior. This includes:

• Robocalls making fraudulent offers to sell respirator masks with no intent of delivery
• Fake COVID-19-related apps and websites that install malware or ransomware
• Phishing emails asking for money or presenting malware
• Social media scams fraudulently seeking donations or claiming to provide stimulus funds if the recipient enters his or her bank account number
• Sales of fake testing cures, ” immunity” pills, and protective equipment
• Fraudulent offers for free COVID-19 testing in order to obtain Medicare beneficiary information that is used to submit false medical claims for unrelated, unnecessary, or fictitious testing or services
• Prescription drug schemes involving the submission of medical claims for unnecessary antiretroviral treatments or other drugs that are marketed as purported cures for COVID- 19
• Robberies of patients departing from hospitals or doctor offices
• Threats to intentionally infect other people

You should be on the lookout for these sorts of schemes, as well as any others like them.

Additionally, individuals or businesses may be accumulating medical supplies or devices beyond what they reasonably need on a daily basis, or for the purpose of selling them in excess of prevailing market prices. It is illegal to acquire medical supplies and devices designated by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) as scarce in order to hoard them or sell them for excessive prices. Such conduct may be prosecuted at the local level or, in some cases at the federal level.

The Deschutes County District Attorney’s Office is interested in prosecuting individuals who are price gouging of items related to the COVID-19 Virus.  Contact the Black Butte Police Department if you suspect someone of price gouging or have been the target price gouging.
